About Us
BTS was founded in 1990 by Bill Benson. Bill retired from South Western Bell and AT&T with over 30 years of experience. He began contracting to local businesses in Central Kansas. Shortly after he started his business he began contracting back to AT&T, doing service and maintenance work. He soon realized that he would need help in taking care of his local customers as well as his AT&T contacts, so in 1991 he hired his son Brody Benson.
In 1997 BTS realized that to keep up with emerging technologies they would have to get on line. So they establised their first dial up connection to the internet. It wasn't long before they realized that this type of connection was not going to serve their needs. They set forth to bring in a faster connection, but they soon found out that the cost of such a connection in the rural town of Partridge just wasn't going to pay for itself.
In 1997 BTS realized that to keep up with emerging technologies they would have to get on line. So they establised their first dial up connection to the internet. It wasn't long before they realized that this type of connection was not going to serve their needs. They set forth to bring in a faster connection, but they soon found out that the cost of such a connection in the rural town of Partridge just wasn't going to pay for itself.
After much thought they decided to become an ISP and share the bandwith with rural businesses and residents in their area, but how were they going to keep their over head down and give the same high speed access to their clients? Wireless was the answer. They soon constructed their first 200 foot tower 7 miles south of Partridge and began broadcasting their service to the rural communities of Partridge and Pretty Prairie. Since this time they have expanded into several other communities.
Not only does BTS work hard to bring high speed internet to those who could not connect to DSL or Cable, they have kept up with their work in Central Kansas doing network cabling & complex PBX installations for medium to large businesses, spanning from Medicine Lodge, Hutchinson, Garden City, Wichita, Lyons, Ellsworth and more with customers in the industries of
Education, Manufacturing, Health care, Insurance and Food.
